My Sunday with two Chinese hairy crabs

One Sunday, two weeks ago, we went to see a nice village called Zhujiaojiao and, of course, and firs of all, to eat some haochi crabs because October and November are the proper months to eat them (at least, I have understand so).

We met at TLI, trying not to be late. Then, when everyone arrived, we began our road-trip-day. On the road to the curious restaurants where the crabs are eaten, ours laoshi make an effort to integrate everyone so, one by one, everybody began to introduce himself. Afterwards, we start playing a word-game (impossible for me with my Chinese level) in order to make funnier our time on the bus.

We easily arrived to our restaurant. The situation was sort of surrealistic for a Spaniard because I am not used to eat at 10,30 am! But it was part of the experience. Like for example, eating jellyfish at 10,45, or an almost complete chicken at 10.55h with some beer or coke. Finally, the crabs arrived and they were really delicious, both female and male ones. After our meal (which I really do not know how to refer to: breakfast or lunch… maybe brunch), some guy was singing around the tables, and our laoshi Rachel thought that it was the best occasion for me to hear one A-du song! So we enjoy with some hit of my namesake.

Once we finished washing our hands and got ready, we went to see the pools in the river where the crabs were living. And minutes later, we were back in the bus were 90% of the people was getting asleep.

Finally, we are arrived to one of the Asian Venices, Zhujiajiao. It was really haokan . We could go through gardens, take a little boat, and then go for a walk along the channels and see all the strange things that people from this village were selling. I saw several types or turtles, lots of different foods and some handicraft.

In this little trip, I met some Italian students, another Spaniards that I had never seen and I could talk with some Japanese people that I had seen everyday in TLI but I had never talked to. That is why I invite everyone to go to this excursion next year: you can see your teachers in another environment, know better some of your mates, have a good Sunday and know something more of China .
